Yotsuba Japanese Restaurant

Stopped in here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Excellent place.We were seated right away and our server kicked us off with drinks immediately.We ordered soup and 4 different rolls. Each was delicious and looked great. I was even impressed by the addition of jalapenos on one roll to add a little heat to the flavor.We arrived right before 1pm on the Sunday we visited, and the place filled up by the time we left around 2:30. I recommend checking this place out if you're in the area and looking for some excellent sushi.

Noodle should be a little more firmer but soup taste is OK with seafood. This is between Chinese and Japanese ramen and somehow it is OK in Ann Arbor.

Lunch set includes salad, udon, and rolls.Soy-source marinated mushroom in Udon makes me happy. Roll was a little bit spicy, maintaining appetite. I wish to try other menus.

The unique rolls, extremely good service, and great drinks made this meal a treat. Highly recommended.

My favorite sushi place :) super welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Try the amazing roll, it's my favorite! They even have great ramen, udon, and more dishes :)

Fresh and great service!

The food at this place is very good. A little pricey though, but very good. If I could change one thing about this place, it would be the lighting. No need for the bright cafeteria interior lights. Some nice indirect mood lighting would do so much for this place.

Enjoy Japanese dining even more with my daughter since her trip to Japan. This was our first time, and everything we ordered was so delicious! Service was quick, staff was friendly! Will be back. (My photo is only half of our dishes ordered. Tuna Tataki and eel/ avocado roll.)

Delicious food, great service! My only complaint is the sushi rolls looked like they were cut with a dull knife. Didn't impact the taste just the presentation.

The food was passable. The waitress was not very friendly at all, she never ask us if we wanted anything to drink other than water. I ask her after she brought our dinners if she could bring my husband and me hot, she said yes and turned to leave. I quickly ask my son if he wanted something else to drink before she had a chance to leave again. Our soup was brought out the same time Our dinner was. I asked before we ordered if our certificate could be used, she said she would check and wrote our order down and didn't return until she brought our salads. And of course the answer was "no only after 3 p.m." which is not on the certificate anywhere! So just another way to get us to come in again and have to spend more money. Never again will I buy a certificate for this place!

I'll be honest, I was not expecting much going in, but I was happily surprised by my overall experience. The salad was crunchy, juicy and the dressing was on point. The curry was fantastic. The portion was generous, the curry was very flavorful and the katsu, pork cutlet, was both juicy and crunchy. It accompanied the curry perfectly. Two things surprised me. Didn't take away from my enjoyment of the food, but it was definitely noticeable. The curry contained very large chunks of carrots and it even had small pieces of beef. Again, not a bad thing. Just thought it would be worth mentioning. Though this place is quite out of the way, it definitely deserves a visit .

Treated me like family, best sushi place around!

The food and drinks were very good, and decently priced. We were served in a timely manner.

This place was amazing!! The service was awesome...thank you Aysia! The food was even better. Quick and great with a full house. Couldn't ask for a better place to go during my stay in Ypsilanti. Definitely a must check out in my book. I'll be back even if I'm just driving through.

You won't smell like food after eating unlike other Oriental restaurants

I felt like I should put this restaurant on my top favorite Asian restaurant since I appreciated to being welcome by great staffs and many options I could eat sushi! Great affordable!

I always have a great time here. The service is quick, friendly, and professional, the food always tastes good, and the place is so clean. Iove it here. I would come here everyday!! The fish they use always tastes like it's the best quality. The rolls and nigiri is my favorite; they don't use a ton of rice to make them look big which is what I love. Definitely a staple.

Most amazing sushi around

Did take out for my first go. Very vast and professional service! Tasteful selection of reasonable priced sushi and traditional Japanese cuisine.

My camera gave this food more color than it had. Everything tasted old and had no real flavor. I love eel and this eel tasted like nothing. The fatty tuna had a slimy texture and none of the flavor that would be normally associated with it. Overall pretty disappointed. Owner did seem appreciative of the input though, so that was nice.

Delicious high quality food, but food takes quite a while to come out.

Friendly service, and yummy food. Even the simple salad and gyoza appetizers were delicious! Definitely want to come back to try more meals.

By far the best quality of Sushi in the metro Ann Arbor area. Fish is typically a higher grade than other places use. It’s not cheap. It’s fairly priced. You get what you pay for.

Casual atmosphere and truly stellar sushi. The rolls are creative and delicious. Even the California roll was great! I'll definitely be recommending Yotsuba to friends.

It was a really good experience! The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The ambiance felt really Japanese thanks to the building style, decorations and music. They had a couple of maneki neko which are so cute!The food was great, I ordered the sushi lunch and was not disappointed at all. They gave me soup and salad with the sushi lunch, which I was hoping for. They were really good as well.The sushi was good, tasted fresh.I just wished the sushi chefs spoke Japanese. It sounded like some other language.

Great place with delicious food and a relaxing atmosphere. Service was spot on and timely. We'll definitely be back!

Update: Still love this place! We go there for a special occasion date night and it’s just as delicious as it was 2 years ago!This place is awesome! The sushi is so fresh and tastes amazing. They have interesting dishes I haven't seen at other places like the "sushi pizza." Everyone working there were super friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back.

Food is always very fresh, good and beautiful to look at. Service can be a little slow, but worth the wait.

One of the better sushi places I like to visit in Washtenaw County.

Pretty good sushi! I went here to lunch with a colleague and the sushi was very good. Their prices were just a bit higher than the one in downtown Ann Arbor.

The absolute best sushi in Washtenaw County, arguably the best restaurant even. The food is excellent, staff is very friendly, great date night, but also accommodates the kids.

Everything we have tried has been good quality, except for desert. This is a nice place to go for a business or family outing.

Great food with tons of options (especially if you have dietary restrictions). Ambience is amazing as well, feel very relaxed once i walk in. Prompt service, however pacing definitely needs some work to ensure that appetizer, soup, and entree dont all come at once. Overrall one of my favorite spots for sushi.

Just tried your spicy scallop and spicy salmon rolls and I'm in love. I've been looking for a place that puts sesame seeds on there sushi and not only have I found it but I've found a place that has spicy scallop rolls. My new favorite place. It was so delicious, I almost cried thanking god for those sesame seeds. Just really adds something special to the taste.

We had dinner at Yotsuba Japanese Restaurant. The customer service there is top notch, and the food is quite delicious as well. We ordered the chicken teriyaki and a sushi set, miso soup and onion soup — the presentation was lovely, as everything was plated beautifully as shown in a couple of my food pics. Flavors were bright and well balanced, not too salty, not too sweet. This place is also conveniently located along the Washtenaw Avenue corridor right at US 23, making it just minutes from anytime Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. I will be back!
